The Museum of Fishing
The Floating Museum
July 12, 1987, first boat-museum of France is inaugurated in the quay of the Museum of Concarneau's fishing.
Hemerica is the first preserved boat: it is about a trawler with lateral fishing of 34,80 metres. These models disappeared one by one in the 1980's, replaced by trawlers with back fishing, such as those whom one knows today. The creation of a Floating Museum corresponds completely to the step of the Museum in favour of the conservation of the maritime patrimony.
After 15 years spent in the landing stage of the Museum, Hemerica was supposed to be the last winter in shipyards Piriou to Concarneau for a restoration and returns to us surer and made look younger. The hull was cleaned up, the redone paintings and the inside is adorned again at first.
